English Students & 3MT

You may recall that last year UWaterloo English PhD student Elise Vist made it all the way to the top of the Three Minute Thesis Competition. This year five of our PhD students are joining the fray. Join us for the Arts Three Minute Thesis competition and learn about our graduate students’ outstanding ideas! All are welcome this Wednesday and Thursday, February 8 and 9, at 12 noon in PAS 2083. Lunch will be provided.Participating English students are:

Feb 8:
Saeed Sabzian
Feb 9:
Evelyn Deshane
Nicholas Hobin
Sara Gallagher

Graeme Northcote

The top-scoring Arts students will then advance to the university-wide 3MT competition on March 23. The winner there receives a $1,000 prize ($500 for the runner-up) and the opportunity to compete at the 3MT provincial finals. Competitors can use one static slide and take three minutes to present the breadth and significance of their graduate research to a panel of judges. Feel free to join us for part of or the full heat.
