Waterloo alumna and author wins award: Carrie Snyder

Snyder

Kitchener-Waterloo newspaper The Record just named UWaterloo alumna Carrie Snyder (BA 1997) “The Best Local Author.” Not only is Carrie a Waterloo graduate, she is also now teaching in the English department.

You can read an interview with Carrie here, conducted for the English at 50 celebrations, and another here, celebrating the publication of her book The Juliet Stories (Anansi, 2012), which was shortlisted for the Governor General’s Literary Award. She also blogs.

Thanks to Amber West for the tip–JLH.

  1. Brilliant stories. So impressed by the book that I have 3 autographed copies: one good copy to display, one to read, get messy and break the spine, etc, and one copy as a spare (in case I lose the other 2!) A new collection of short stories by Snyder is always an event.
