Sarah Kathryn York on The Anatomy of Edouard Beaupré


Sarah York is a doctoral candidate in English at Waterloo. Her first major work of creative nonfiction, The Anatomy of Edouard Beaupré, was recently published by Coteau Books. In this interview, she discusses some of the details of the 8′ 4″ Willow Bunch Giant’s life and legacy, as well as her passion for the historical research that was required to responsibly novelize his remarkable story.

  1. The book is great, by the way. Edouard was a pretty fascinating guy, it turns out. I actually found myself thinking, (thankfully, not saying out loud, on the bus) “I will dance with you Edouard!” That only makes sense if you have read the book, though.
